Full details
The Asics Gel-Excite 11 is an ideal choice for male runners and fitness enthusiasts seeking a reliable, cushioned trainer for daily road runs and gym workouts. These trainers leverage signature GEL technology to provide a smooth, comfortable ride, paired with a highly breathable upper to maintain foot temperature. While they offer excellent versatility for everyday exercise, runners looking for high-performance speed features or significant stability control for overpronation may find them better suited for base training rather than competitive racing.

FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for marathon training?
They are excellent for daily training miles, though marathoners often switch to specialized racing shoes for competition days.
Does the Gel-Excite 11 provide arch support?
It provides neutral support. If you require specific corrective insoles, the factory sockliner can usually be replaced with your own.
Can I use these for HIIT workouts?
Yes, their lightweight design makes them suitable for HIIT, though they are primarily optimized for forward motion.
How long do the shoes last?
Generally, running shoes lose their structural integrity between 300 to 500 miles, depending on the surface and your gait.
Are they waterproof?
No, they feature a breathable mesh upper, which is designed for airflow rather than water resistance.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort after long runs
Ensure your laces are not overtightened; adjust the tension to allow for natural foot swelling during exercise.
Mesh upper accumulating too much dirt
Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove dry debris after every run to prevent grit from working into the fabric fibers.
Pros and Cons
Pros

Cons
- Not intended for technical trail running
- Lacks specialized support for severe overpronation

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Asics Gel-Excite 11 trainers maintain their performance, follow these care guidelines:
- Break-in Period: While comfortable out of the box, wear them for shorter periods during the first few days to allow the cushioning to adapt to your foot shape.
- Cleaning: Remove surface dirt with a soft brush. If deeper cleaning is needed, use a damp cloth with mild detergent; avoid putting them in a washing machine, as high temperatures can degrade the glue and foam integrity.
- Drying: Air dry the shoes at room temperature away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the materials.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry place to prevent mildew and ensure the cushioning material stays resilient over time.
