Is self-assembly required for this table?

Yes, the Ancona Lift Up Storage Coffee TV Dining Table requires self-assembly. It comes with all necessary hardware and instructions.

What material is the table made from?

The table is constructed from particle board.

Can I use this table for eating meals?

Yes, the lift-up tabletop design makes it suitable for comfortable dining, especially for individuals or small groups, or for casual TV dinners.

How do I clean and care for the table?

Wipe the table with a soft, damp cloth for general cleaning. Avoid abrasive cleaners. If using on un-carpeted floors, always use rubber or felt protection pads under the legs to prevent floor damage.

Is there storage space inside the table?

Yes, there is a hidden storage area revealed when the tabletop is lifted, in addition to an open under shelf for more accessible items.

Troubleshooting

Table wobbles after assembly.

Ensure the table is on a level surface. Double-check that all screws, cam locks, and fasteners are fully tightened according to the assembly instructions. Sometimes, a slight adjustment to one leg can resolve minor wobbles.

Lift mechanism is stiff or difficult to operate.

Verify that all bolts connecting the lift mechanism are tightened securely but not overtightened, which can impede movement. Ensure no debris is lodged in the hinges. A small amount of silicone-based lubricant (avoid oil-based) can be applied to the pivot points if allowed by the manufacturer's instructions, but often this indicates an assembly issue.

Parts are missing or damaged upon delivery.

Do not proceed with assembly. Contact the retailer or manufacturer's customer service immediately with your order details and a description of the missing/damaged parts. They will arrange for replacements.

Tabletop does not sit flush when lowered.

Recheck the alignment and tightness of the lift mechanism components. Ensure all connecting pieces are properly seated and that there are no obstructions preventing the top from fully closing.

Scratching or damage to un-carpeted floor.

This issue is preventable. Apply rubber or felt protection pads to the bottom of all table legs. If damage has already occurred, consider floor repair or covering options.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Space-Saving Versatility: Combines multiple furniture functions into one compact unit, ideal for smaller homes.
  • Ample Storage: Offers both hidden and open storage options to help keep your living area organized.
  • Ergonomic Work/Dining Height: The lift-up feature provides a comfortable height for working on a laptop or enjoying meals without leaning over.
  • Modern Aesthetic: Its clean lines and brown finish complement various contemporary decors.

Cons

  • Self-Assembly Required: Users must assemble the product themselves, which may take time and effort.
  • Particle Board Material: While sturdy, particle board may not offer the same premium feel or long-term durability as solid wood furniture.
  • Floor Protection Needed: Requires rubber or felt pads on un-carpeted floors to prevent damage.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully unpack all parts and hardware. Check against the included parts list to ensure nothing is missing or damaged. If any parts are missing, contact customer support before proceeding.
  2. Prepare Your Space: Clear an area large enough for assembly. Lay down a blanket or cardboard to protect your floor and the table components from scratches.
  3. Follow Assembly Manual: Adhere strictly to the step-by-step instructions provided in the self-assembly manual. Pay close attention to diagrams and hardware labels.
  4. Secure All Fasteners: Ensure all screws, cam locks, and dowels are properly seated and tightened. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the particle board.
  5. Test Lift Mechanism: Once assembled, gently test the lift-up mechanism to ensure it operates smoothly. If stiff, ensure all connecting bolts are not overly tight.

Compatibility

  • Space Requirements: Before ordering, always measure your available space. The table measures 105W x 50D x 38H cm (42 x 20 x 15 ins). Ensure you have adequate clearance for the lift mechanism when extended to 50 cm (19½ ins) high.
  • Interior Style: The brown finish and modern design integrate well with contemporary and transitional home decor styles.

Care & Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe spills immediately with a soft, damp cloth. For general cleaning, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for wood or laminate surfaces. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Floor Protection: If placing the table on un-carpeted floors (e.g., hardwood, laminate, tile), it is highly recommended to affix rubber or felt protection pads to the bottom of the table legs. This prevents scratches and scuffs to your flooring.
  • Load Capacity: Avoid placing excessively heavy items on the lift-up portion of the table, especially when extended, to prevent strain on the mechanism.
  • Sunlight & Heat: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat sources, as this can cause fading or warping of the particle board.
