The New Balance 740 Trainers are ideal for adults seeking a blend of 2000s-inspired aesthetics and modern everyday comfort. These unisex trainers feature an open knit mesh upper and a segmented midsole that provide excellent breathability and support for daily wear, though the intricate angular overlays mean they are best suited for lifestyle use rather than high-intensity athletic performance.

No, these are classified as lifestyle trainers inspired by running aesthetics, not specialized technical running shoes.
Yes, they generally fit true to standard adult sizing, but we recommend measuring your feet if you are between sizes.
No, high heat from a dryer can warp the midsole and damage the adhesive; always air dry at room temperature.
We recommend against machine washing to preserve the life of the materials; stick to hand cleaning methods.
Yes, the breathable nature of the mesh means they are not waterproof and will let water through in rainy conditions.
Use a soft brush and mild soapy water to gently scrub the affected area, then air dry.
Re-lace the shoes using different eyelet configurations to adjust tension across the midfoot.
Ensure the factory-supplied insole is positioned correctly and not bunched at the heel.
Getting the most out of your New Balance 740 trainers starts with ensuring the right fit; they are designed for standard adult foot shapes and provide a secure, lockdown feel through the laces. Since these are lifestyle trainers, avoid machine washing, which can damage the structural integrity of the overlays. To clean, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the mesh and a damp cloth with mild soap for the synthetic overlays. Allow them to air dry away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, to maintain the shape of the cushioning and the durability of the materials.
