FAQs
Are these suitable for long-distance running?
No, the Nike Shox TL is designed primarily for lifestyle and casual use, not for high-intensity or distance running.
How do I clean the velvet upper?
Spot clean using a gentle fabric-safe cleaner and a soft cloth; avoid excessive water.
What does the Shox technology do?
The mechanical pillars compress to absorb impact and return energy, creating a distinctive responsive feel underfoot.
Does the sizing run true?
Yes, these generally fit true to standard UK adult sizing, though personal preference for sock thickness should be considered.
Can I wear these in the rain?
Due to the velvet upper, it is recommended to avoid heavy rain or puddles to prevent staining and water damage.
Troubleshooting
Velvet material looks matted after wear
Gently use a garment steamer at a distance or a soft upholstery brush to lift the velvet fibers back into place.
Creaking sound from the Shox pillars
Check that the base of the pillars is free of stuck gravel or debris, then wipe down with a damp cloth.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Nike Shox TL trainers remain in top condition, follow these guidelines:
- Fitting: Ensure the laces are adjusted to your preferred tension upon first wear to allow the collar to sit comfortably around the ankle.
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from the velvet upper. Avoid harsh scrubbing or submerging in water, as this can flatten the velvet pile.
- Storage: Keep away from direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry area to prevent colour fading and material degradation.
- Compatibility: These trainers are standard UK adult sizes; if you prefer thicker socks, you may find a comfortable fit by matching your true-to-size measurement or opting for a half-size up if available.
