Product Information

Full details

The Durapost Composite Gate Panels are designed for homeowners and contractors looking to create a durable, professional-grade finish for custom aluminium gate frames. These panels provide an excellent balance of longevity and aesthetic appeal, offering a sleek grey finish that resists weathering. While they offer superior structural integrity compared to wood, they must be used specifically with compatible aluminium gate frames, which limits their use in DIY projects requiring alternate mounting systems.

FAQs

Are these panels compatible with wooden gate frames?

No, these panels are specifically engineered for compatibility with Durapost aluminium gate frames.

Do the panels come in different colours?

This specific product variant is provided in grey.

Can I paint the composite panels?

The panels are factory-finished with a UV-stabilised coating; painting is not recommended as it may not adhere well to the composite surface.

What tools are needed to cut the panels?

A standard saw suitable for composite or plastic materials will suffice for trimming the boards to size.

Are the panels solid all the way through?

Yes, these are robust composite panels designed for durability and structural strength.

Troubleshooting

Panels are difficult to slide into the frame

Check the aluminium frame channels for debris or obstructions and ensure the frame is perfectly square.

Panels do not fit the frame length

Measure your gate frame width and trim the composite panels using a fine-toothed blade to match the internal dimensions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Resistant to UV rays and environmental fading
High-quality composite material for enhanced durability
Standardized dimensions make installation predictable
Sleek grey finish matches modern aesthetic trends

Cons

Limited to use with compatible aluminium gate frames
Fixed length of 1000mm may require cutting for non-standard gates
Specific to the Durapost system ecosystem

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install, ensure your aluminium gate frame is properly mounted and square. The 1000mm boards are designed to slide into the frame slots. If your gate frame width is less than 1000mm, you will need to trim the boards carefully using a saw suitable for composite materials. For long-term care, these panels require minimal maintenance; a simple wipe-down with water and a soft cloth is sufficient to remove dirt or debris. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or pressure washers, as these can damage the surface finish over time.
