Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: No specific setup is required beyond ensuring the brush is clean before its first use. It is ready to be dipped into your chosen paint.
Compatibility: This brush is designed for use with all paint types, including water-based (latex, acrylic) and oil-based (alkyd) formulations. It is also suitable for application on all surfaces, such as drywall, wood, plaster, and metal.
Care: To maintain performance and longevity:
- After Use: Immediately after painting, remove excess paint by wiping the bristles on the edge of the paint can or a scrap surface.
- Cleaning Water-Based Paints: Rinse the brush thoroughly under warm running water. Gently work the bristles to remove all paint residue. Continue rinsing until the water runs clear.
- Cleaning Oil-Based Paints: Use a suitable mineral spirit or paint thinner to clean the brush. Apply the solvent to a clean cloth or the edge of the paint can, then work the bristles through it. Rinse thoroughly with soap and water after using the solvent.
- Drying: Gently reshape the bristles with your fingers. Hang the brush to dry with the bristles pointing downwards, or lay it flat on a surface. Avoid leaving the brush standing upright on its bristles, as this can damage their shape.
- Storage: Store the brush in a clean, dry place. For long-term storage, consider using a brush protector sleeve to maintain bristle shape.
