Full details

The Pao Portable Lamp, designed by Naoto Fukasawa, is an ingenious and stylish light inspired by the soft glowing shape of traditional Mongolian Pao tents. This everyday object is designed for outdoor use but also possesses great beauty and utility when used inside the home. Its modest aesthetics provide a natural ambience, allowing it to harmonize with its environment. The light source is concealed within the shade, behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, delivering an efficient, diffused downlight with a warm, homely glow. The compact, battery-operated design allows for easy movement between rooms or for taking outdoors into the garden and other external spaces. Available in various complementary color options, this lamp can create wonderful sets. The lamp features a switch in the base to adjust brightness levels. Established in 2003, Naoto Fukasawa Design is known for accessing and communicating the true essence of objects. The Pao Portable table lamp is part of a collection created by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa for HAY, drawing on his aesthetic of beautiful simplicity and design values found in nature. Both the base and lampshade are made of durable polycarbonate with a smooth, high-gloss surface.
