Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure you lace your boots snugly from bottom to top, utilizing all eyelets. This provides optimal lockdown and prevents your foot from sliding inside the boot. Experiment with different lacing styles if you experience pressure points.
- Break-in Period: While the Flyknit offers immediate comfort, it's advisable to wear the boots for a few light training sessions before a full match. This allows the materials to mold to your foot shape and the soleplate to become more flexible.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG). This means they are engineered for use on natural grass pitches that are dry and firm. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or very soft/wet natural ground (SG) can lead to premature wear, reduced performance, and potential injury. Always check the surface before playing.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off dirt and mud using a soft brush or a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the Gripknit or other upper components.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can cause materials to shrink, crack, or lose their structural integrity.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with boot trees or crumpled newspaper inside to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Submerging: Do not submerge your boots in water for extended periods, as this can degrade the adhesives and materials.
