Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Setting up your Reni Ceiling Lamp Shade is straightforward and requires no tools or complex wiring. It's designed as an 'easy-fit' shade, meaning it simply attaches to your existing pendant light fitting, floor lamp base, or table lamp base.
- Ensure the power to your light fitting is turned off at the mains before beginning installation.
- Carefully remove your old lamp shade, if applicable.
- Align the Reni shade with your lamp holder or pendant fitting. The central hole in the shade is designed to fit standard light fittings.
- Secure the shade in place using the retaining ring that typically comes with your lamp holder (this part is not included with the shade).
- Once securely fitted, you can install your chosen light bulb (not included).
- Restore power to your light fitting.
Compatibility:
This versatile lamp shade is compatible with a wide range of lighting fixtures:
- Ceiling Pendants: Easily attaches to most standard ceiling pendant drops.
- Floor Lamps: Can be fitted to many floor lamp bases that accommodate a standard shade fitting.
- Table Lamps: Suitable for table lamp bases, provided the dimensions (25cm H x 45cm W x 45cm D) are appropriate for your table and space.
Always ensure the bulb wattage used is compatible with your lamp holder and the shade's material to prevent overheating. It is recommended to use LED bulbs for energy efficiency and lower heat emission.
Care:
To maintain the luxurious appearance of your Reni Navy Velvet & Gold Lamp Shade:
- Dusting: Gently dust the velvet exterior regularly with a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to prevent build-up.
- Spot Cleaning: For any small marks on the velvet, lightly dab with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this can damage the pile. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Interior: The gold metallic interior can be wiped gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth to keep it free from dust and maintain its reflective quality. Ensure no moisture gets into electrical components.
- Avoid: Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, abrasive materials, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the velvet fabric and metallic finish.
