Setup, Compatibility & Care
When planting your 9cm pot, select a site that receives ample sunlight. While Catmint is flexible with partial shade, it produces the most prolific blooms in full sun. Ensure the soil is well-draining; if your soil is heavy clay, mix in horticultural grit or compost to improve drainage.
Water the plant regularly during its first year until the root system is well-established. Once mature, you can significantly reduce watering. To encourage a second flush of flowers, shear the plant back by about one-third after the initial July bloom. Keep the area around the base free of heavy mulch to ensure air circulation around the crown of the plant.
