The Viburnum opulus 'Roseum', also known as the Snowball Tree, is a bushy, deciduous shrub featuring striking blooms and lobed, maple-like leaves that turn fiery shades of red and purple in autumn. It is most recognized for its voluminous clusters of green-tinted white snowball flowers that age to a pink hue, appearing from early May. Unlike the common Guelder Rose, this variety does not produce fruit as its flowers are sterile; however, its vibrant spring and autumn colours, along with its perfect cut flowers, compensate for this. It has earned the coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, confirming its status as a robust and vigorous performer guaranteed to suit UK gardeners of all experience levels.
