Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from their packaging and remove any protective films or materials.
- Position: Place the kettle on its power base and the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate clearance from walls, cabinets, and curtains to allow proper ventilation and prevent fire hazards.
- Initial Cleaning (Kettle): Before first use, fill the kettle to the maximum level with fresh water, boil, and then discard the water. Repeat this process at least twice to clean the interior.
- Initial Cleaning (Toaster): Operate the toaster empty on a medium setting a few times to burn off any manufacturing residues. It's normal to observe some smoke or a slight odor during this initial process. Ensure good ventilation.
Compatibility
The set requires standard household electrical outlets. As indicated by the 'UK Strix thermostat', it is designed for standard UK electrical systems. Ensure your wall outlets can safely support the 3000W power draw of the kettle and the toaster's combined wattage.
Care
- Kettle: Always unplug the kettle from the mains before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. For descaling, use a suitable descaling solution following the product's instructions, or a mix of equal parts white vinegar and water. Boil the solution, let it sit for a period (e.g., 30 minutes), then discard and rinse the kettle interior thoroughly several times with fresh water.
- Toaster: Always unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Regularly remove and empty the crumb tray (if present, > Info needed: [confirm crumb tray existence]) to prevent crumb buildup and potential fire hazards. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or immerse the toaster in water.
