FAQs

No, the Granite Grey finish is integrated into the manufacturing process and does not require periodic painting like wood.

Can these planks be installed directly onto studs?

It is recommended to install over a suitable substrate with a ventilated rainscreen system for optimal longevity.

How long is the warranty?

The product is backed by a 15-year warranty covering material defects and durability.

Can I use these planks for interior walls?

While intended for exterior use, they can technically be used indoors, though they are specifically engineered for exterior weather resistance.

How do I cut these boards safely?

Use a circular saw equipped with a diamond-tipped blade designed for fibre cement to ensure clean cuts and minimize dust.

Troubleshooting

Visible dust during cutting

Ensure the use of a dust-collection system attached to the saw and wear an N95 respirator mask.

Surface cracking during installation

Verify that fasteners are not over-driven; check that the support structure is level and plumb.

Pros and Cons

Non-combustible Class A2 fire rating for increased safety

Edges can be brittle if handled improperly before installation
Requires professional installation techniques for optimal weatherproofing

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation requires standard siding practices, typically involving a ventilated rainscreen setup to ensure proper moisture management behind the cladding. Ensure all boards are stored on a flat, dry surface off the ground before use. Use diamond-tipped blades or specialized fibre cement saws to cut planks, as standard circular saw blades will dull rapidly and create excessive dust. For cleaning, use a mild soapy water solution and a soft brush; avoid high-pressure power washers, which can damage the surface finish. Always ensure that fasteners are installed to the manufacturer’s specified depth to avoid cracking the material.
