Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Jazz Shaggy Rug is straightforward:
- Unroll the Rug: Carefully unroll the rug in your desired location. It may take a day or two for any creases from packaging to flatten out. You can gently bend the rug in the opposite direction of the crease to help it relax.
- Positioning: Place the rug where it best complements your room's layout and furniture.
- Anti-Slip Grip (Recommended): If placing on a hard floor (wood, laminate, tile), always use an anti-slip rug grip underneath to prevent slipping and ensure the rug stays in place. This will provide stability and safety.
Compatibility
- Floor Types: Compatible with all floor types. Crucially, an anti-slip rug grip is recommended for use on hard floors.
- Room Types: Ideal for high-traffic areas like living rooms, hallways, dining rooms, and bedrooms, thanks to its durability and easy-clean properties.
- Style: The shaggy pile and pink colour make it suitable for adding warmth and a pop of colour to various interior design styles.
Care
Proper care will ensure your Jazz Shaggy Rug maintains its quality and appearance:
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly on a low-power setting or using a brush attachment to remove dust and loose dirt. Avoid using a beater bar, as this can damage the pile.
- Spot Cleaning Stains: For spills and stains, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain. For tougher stains, use a small amount of surface shampoo designed for rugs. Apply to a cloth first, then blot the stained area. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.
- Deep Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, consider professional rug cleaning every 1-2 years, or as needed.
- Rotate Regularly: To ensure even wear and exposure to light, rotate your rug every few months.
- Avoid Excessive Moisture: Polypropylene is water-resistant but not waterproof. Avoid saturating the rug with water.
- Air Out: Periodically air out your rug outdoors on a dry day to refresh it and remove any trapped odors.
