FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
While the 1906R features heritage performance technology, it is primarily categorized as a lifestyle trainer suitable for casual wear and walking.
How do I determine my size?
New Balance sizing typically follows standard UK sizing. We recommend checking your foot length against a standard size chart if you are between sizes.
Can these be machine washed?
No, machine washing can damage the adhesive and cushioning materials. Always hand clean with mild detergent.
Are the insoles removable?
Yes, the insoles are removable, allowing for cleaning or the use of custom orthotics if required.
Is the material waterproof?
No, the trainers feature an open-holed mesh upper specifically designed for breathability, not water resistance.
Troubleshooting
Visible dirt trapped in mesh
Use a gentle compressed air canister or a soft-bristled toothbrush to dislodge debris from the open-holed sections.
Synthetic overlays appearing dull
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth to restore the shine of the synthetic finish; avoid harsh chemical cleaners.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your 1906R trainers remain in top condition, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the mesh and synthetic overlays. For deeper stains, use a mild soap solution and a soft cloth, then air dry away from direct heat sources.
- Moisture Protection: Due to the mesh construction, consider applying a sneaker-safe water-repellent spray if you expect to encounter light dampness, though they are not waterproof.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to prevent the white materials from yellowing over time.
- Insole Care: Remove the internal sockliner periodically to allow it to air out after heavy use.
