Full details
The New Balance Furon V9 Pro FG football boots are designed for attacking players who prioritize speed and agility on firm ground pitches. Featuring an engineered mesh upper and specialized T-shaped studs for explosive acceleration, these boots offer a lightweight, locked-in feel; however, players preferring a leather touch or significant extra cushioning may find the minimal, speed-focused construction less forgiving during long matches.

FAQs
Are these boots suitable for artificial grass?
These are specifically designed as Firm Ground (FG) boots; while they may work on some modern artificial turf, they are optimized for natural firm ground surfaces.
Do I need to break in the Furon V9?
The engineered mesh is flexible, but it is recommended to wear them in during a light training session before using them in a competitive match.
What is the primary material of the upper?
The upper is constructed from an engineered polyester-based mesh designed for durability and a lightweight feel.
How should I clean the mesh upper?
Use a soft-bristled brush and lukewarm water to gently remove dirt. Avoid fully submerging the boots in water.
Does this boot come in a wide fit?
The Furon V9 generally features a standard, streamlined fit. If you require extra width, consider adjusting the lacing or consulting our sizing guide.
Troubleshooting
Boots feel loose during play
Adjust the central lacing system to ensure a tighter lockdown across the midfoot area.
Studs collecting excessive mud
Use a specialized boot cleaning brush to clear the gaps between the T-shaped studs after every match.
Discomfort around the ankle
Ensure the knitted collar is pulled fully upright and not bunched, which can cause friction points.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Extremely lightweight construction for increased speed
- Excellent traction on firm ground surfaces
- Secure, anatomical fit with central lacing
- Advanced stud geometry for quick cuts and stops
Cons
- Minimalist design may provide less impact protection than heavier boots
- Engineered mesh requires consistent cleaning to maintain appearance
- Strictly optimized for firm ground, not suitable for soft or muddy pitches
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best performance from your Furon V9 boots, ensure they are laced securely before every session to maintain the integrity of the lockdown system. These boots are intended for use on firm ground (FG) surfaces; using them on soft or artificial ground with excessive rubber fill may lead to premature wear or traction issues.
For care, wipe the polyester and mesh upper with a damp cloth after each use to remove grass and mud. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these can degrade the synthetic materials. Allow the boots to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the soleplate or damage the adhesives.
