Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup (Application Steps):
- Prep Your Lips: Start with clean, dry lips. Gently exfoliate if needed to remove any dry patches. Apply a small amount of lip balm if your lips are prone to dryness, but blot off any excess before applying the lipcolour.
- Shake Well: Before opening, gently shake the tube to ensure the formula is well-mixed.
- Apply Precisely: Using the included applicator, carefully outline your Cupid's bow and the outer edges of your lips. Then, fill in the rest of your lips with an even layer of color.
- Allow to Set: Keep your lips separated and relaxed for at least 2-3 minutes to allow the lipcolour to fully dry and set. This is crucial for its 24-hour wear and transfer-proof properties.
Compatibility:
- Lip Liner: For added definition and to prevent feathering, pair with a matching MAC lip pencil before applying the Locked Kiss Ink.
- Overlays: While designed for standalone wear, avoid applying thick, oily lip glosses over the top if you want to maintain its full 24-hour wear and transfer-resistance. A very thin, non-oily topcoat might be compatible, but experiment cautiously.
- Other Lip Products: Ensure other lip products (e.g., balm) are fully absorbed or blotted off before application to prevent interference with the formula's adherence.
Care:
- Storage: Store the lipcolour in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain its consistency and longevity.
- Hygiene: Keep the applicator clean and avoid sharing your lipcolour to maintain hygiene.
- Removal: Due to its long-wearing nature, an oil-based makeup remover or a dedicated bi-phase eye/lip makeup remover is recommended for effective and gentle removal. Apply the remover to a cotton pad, press onto lips for a few seconds, then gently wipe away.
