Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before your first long hike, wear these shoes for short walks around your neighborhood to allow the full-grain leather to soften and conform to your foot shape. Ensure the laces are snug but not tight enough to restrict circulation across the top of your foot. To care for your Speed Strike 2, wipe away mud and trail debris with a damp cloth after each hike. If the leather becomes saturated, let them air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause the leather to crack or shrink. Use a dedicated leather conditioner periodically to maintain the material's integrity and water-repellency.
