How do I clean the antibacterial surface?

The antibacterial surface is maintained through regular cleaning with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could compromise the treatment.

What is the weight limit for this toilet seat?

The Croydex Cawdor toilet seat is designed to support a maximum weight of 150kg.

Can I remove the seat easily for cleaning?

Yes, the seat features a quick-release button that allows for easy removal, simplifying the cleaning process for both the seat and the toilet bowl.

Does the soft close mechanism require any setup?

No, the soft close mechanism is integrated into the hinges and operates automatically. Ensure the seat is correctly installed for optimal performance.

What material is the toilet seat made from?

Troubleshooting

Seat is wobbly after installation

Ensure hinge nuts are tightened securely. Check that the Flexi-Fix mounting system is correctly aligned and fastened to the toilet bowl.

Soft close mechanism not working smoothly

Check for any obstructions or debris around the hinge mechanism. Ensure the seat is correctly aligned and not binding against the bowl.

Seat cannot be removed for cleaning

Confirm you are pressing the quick-release button correctly. Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the hinge from disengaging.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Easy to install and remove for cleaning thanks to Flexi-Fix and quick-release features.
  • Soft-close mechanism provides quiet operation and prevents damage.
  • Antibacterial surface enhances hygiene standards.
  • Durable construction with a high weight capacity.
  • Adjustable hinges offer compatibility with various toilet shapes.

Cons

  • The 'Pale Concrete' colour may limit aesthetic matching in some bathrooms.
  • Requires standard UK toilet bowl measurements for optimal fit.
  • Moulded wood, while durable, can be susceptible to deep scratches if sharp objects are used.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Unpack all components and identify the seat, lid, and hinge fittings.
  2. Place the seat on the toilet bowl and align the hinges with the bolt holes.
  3. Insert the hinge bolts from either the top or bottom, depending on your toilet bowl's design, and secure them.
  4. Adjust the seat position on the hinges for optimal alignment with the bowl.
  5. Tighten the hinge nuts firmly but avoid overtightening.
  6. If necessary, attach any included mounting plates.

Compatibility:

  • Designed to fit most standard UK oval and round toilet bowls.
  • Requires approximately 4.5cm between the bolt holes and the front of the toilet bowl for optimal hinge placement.

Care:

  • Clean regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
  • For deep cleaning, use the quick-release button to detach the seat. Clean the seat thoroughly and then reattach.
  • Ensure hinges are kept clean and free from debris.
