FAQs

How do I switch between modes?

There is a selector switch on the pump body. Switch to "CHARGE" mode to use the air chamber for tubeless tire setup. Switch to "INFLATE" mode for normal inflation.

What kind of valves does the pump work with?

The SmartHead™ DX3 is compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves.

How do I know the correct tire pressure?

Check the sidewall of your tire for the recommended pressure range. Use the top-mounted gauge to inflate your tires to the recommended pressure.

How do I maintain the pump?

Wipe down the pump with a damp cloth after each use. Store it in a clean and dry place. Check the hose and valve head regularly for wear and tear.

What is the air bleed button for?

The air bleed button allows you to release small amounts of air to fine-tune your tire pressure.

What if my tire still won't seat after using the pump?

Make sure the tire is properly seated on the rim. Check the tire and rim compatibility. Ensure the valve core is tight. Sometimes, using sealant can help with the initial seal.

Can I use this pump for my car tires?

No, this pump is designed for bicycle tires only. It is not suitable for the higher pressures required for car tires.

Troubleshooting

Tire won't seat on the rim.

Ensure the valve core is tightened. Use the 'CHARGE' mode to deliver a quick burst of air to seat the bead. Make sure the tire and rim are compatible.

Gauge is not registering pressure.

Check that the pump head is securely attached to the valve. If the gauge is still not working, it may need to be replaced. Ensure the selector is set to 'INFLATE' mode after charging.

Pump is difficult to use.

Make sure the pump is on a stable surface. Ensure the handle is fully extended. Double check the valve connection and that the correct mode is selected for the task at hand.

Air is leaking from the valve.

Ensure the valve core is tightened. Check the valve head connection and make sure it is properly seated. If the leak persists, the valve core may need to be replaced.
