The CottageWright Metal Ash Bucket and Fireside Companion Set is designed for homeowners with wood burners or fireplaces who need a reliable, durable solution for managing ash and general fireplace maintenance. Its primary benefit is providing a safe, enclosed way to dispose of coal ash while keeping hearth areas tidy with included specialized cleaning tools. A notable caveat is that while the bucket is heat-resistant, it should always be placed on a non-combustible surface and never used to dispose of active, glowing embers.

No. You should never put hot or smoldering embers into the bucket. Allow ashes to cool completely in the fireplace before disposal.
The bucket is designed for standard fireplace ash volumes, sufficient for daily to weekly maintenance depending on how frequently the fire is lit.
It is constructed from heat-resistant metal, but it is not intended for use inside an active fire or as a direct vessel for burning materials.
Yes, the flexible bristles are designed to be safe for brick, stone, and tile surrounds.
No, this set includes the bucket, shovel, and brush; it does not include a separate hearth stand.
Ensure the lid is pressed firmly onto the rim to create a proper seal before moving the bucket.
Check the connection point where the wooden handle meets the metal shaft; ensure it is kept dry to prevent wood expansion or contraction.
Use a light touch-up of high-heat black paint if the coating becomes scratched through to the raw metal.
No assembly is required for the CottageWright kit; it arrives ready for immediate use. For optimal longevity, store the bucket in a dry indoor area to prevent premature rusting of the steel body. When cleaning the bucket or tools, use a dry cloth to wipe away dust; avoid using harsh chemicals that could strip the black coating. Always ensure the tools are placed back into their designated storage or on a hearth stand when not in use to prevent tripping hazards. Always verify that all ash placed inside is completely cold to the touch to prevent heat buildup.
