Rhinegold Winter Rug Tip: Try Putting Our Lightweight 'Torrent' Outdoor Rug Over Your Horses Heavy Winter Rugs In The Field When The Weather Is Really Bad And Wet - This Creates More Insulation And Saves The Heavier Rugs Being Rolled In The Mud And Days Of Drying Off From Heavy Rain- Genius! The materials used in all of our outdoor rugs are certified waterproof. Please understand the expectations of a lightweight turnout rug as autumn/winter approaches as these must be realistic. Strong winds may gust up and under due to the lightweight nature of the rug blowing rain around the horses back end. Heavy rain will also run down the horses neck and penetrate under the rug slightly if left out in very wet conditions (the material is waterproof but the rug is lightweight). Features taped seams, ripstop, waxed stitching, breathable, waterproof 600 Denier, lightweight, no polyfill, and a breathable lining.
