The Rit Powder Fabric Dye in Fuchsia Pink is an ideal solution for hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts looking to refresh faded garments or revitalize textiles with vibrant color. Designed for natural fibers like cotton, silk, and wool, this versatile dye provides a straightforward way to achieve professional results at home; however, users should note that it is less effective on 100% synthetic fabrics, which may require specialized dye types for optimal color saturation.

Rit Powder Dye is formulated for natural fibers and will not dye 100% synthetic fabrics like polyester effectively.
Generally, one 1 1/8oz package is enough for about one pound of dry fabric, usually mixed into three gallons of water.
For the first few washes, it is highly recommended to wash your dyed items separately in cold water to prevent color bleeding.
If kept in a cool, dry place in its original sealed packaging, the powder dye remains effective for a long period.
While this dye is often used in a sink or bucket, it can be used in a washing machine for larger loads, provided you clean the machine thoroughly afterward.
The fabric may contain too many synthetic fibers, or the dyebath was not hot enough during the process.
Ensure the fabric is constantly stirred during the dyeing process and is not bunched up tightly in the container.
Use a household cleaner with bleach or a dedicated stain remover immediately to lift the pigment from surfaces.
To begin, ensure you are working in a protected area to prevent accidental staining of surfaces. Dissolve the powder completely in two cups of hot water before adding it to a larger dyebath. For compatibility, ensure your item is at least 60% cotton, rayon, or linen; blends containing synthetic fibers may produce a lighter shade. After dyeing, rinse the garment in cold water until it runs clear, then wash with a mild detergent. Always clean your workspace immediately after use using a bleach-based cleaner if any powder residue remains.
