FAQs

Can this socket be used to replace a standard 2-gang socket?

Yes, it is designed as a direct replacement for standard UK 2-gang 13amp sockets.

Does the USB output charge devices quickly?

The USB ports are designed for standard charging; check your device manufacturer's specifications for compatibility with the integrated output.

Is the champagne gold finish easy to scratch?

The finish is designed for durability and is covered by a five-year warranty against scratches and fading under normal use.

Do I need a deeper back box for this model?

While it fits standard back boxes, the semi-flush design benefits from a standard 25mm-35mm depth back box to accommodate the wiring neatly.

Is this socket fire-rated?

Yes, the unit is constructed from high-quality fireproof materials to enhance safety.

Troubleshooting

USB ports are not charging devices

Check that the main switch is in the 'On' position and ensure the wall power supply is active.

Socket feels loose against the wall

Verify that the back box is properly recessed and that the mounting screws are tightened sufficiently before snapping the front plate on.

Appliance does not power on

Confirm the plug is fully inserted and the double pole switch is toggled correctly; check the fuse in the appliance plug.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Modern, screwless aesthetic fits contemporary interiors
  • Dual USB ports eliminate the need for external power bricks
  • UV-resistant finish maintains color consistency over time
  • Integrated surge protection adds a layer of device safety
  • Five-year warranty provides long-term reliability

Cons

  • Requires professional electrical installation
  • Semi-flush profile requires a flat, even wall surface
  • Champagne gold finish may not match traditional white plastic fixtures

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician to ensure all local building and electrical regulations are met. The unit is designed to fit standard UK back boxes.

  1. Ensure the mains power is completely isolated at the consumer unit before beginning.
  2. Remove the old faceplate and disconnect existing wiring.
  3. Secure the base plate and wire the socket according to the terminal markings.
  4. Carefully snap the screwless front plate onto the mounted base.

For maintenance, use only a soft, dry cloth to clean the glossy surface. Avoid using abrasive chemicals or solvent-based cleaners, as these may damage the UV-resistant coating.
