Product Information

Full details

The Gardening Naturally Whitefly Treatment is designed for greenhouse and home gardeners needing an effective solution to manage whitefly infestations on crops like tomatoes and cucumbers. By utilizing oily soaps, this concentrated formula acts through direct contact with pests to offer immediate control. While highly effective, users must exercise caution by avoiding application during peak heat or on delicate, young seedlings to prevent potential leaf scorch.

FAQs

Do I need to rinse my plants after spraying?

No, there is no need to rinse the leaves after applying this treatment.

Can I use this on all greenhouse plants?

It is effective for tomatoes and cucumbers, but you should avoid using it on very young seedlings.

How much spray does one bottle make?

With a 1:9 dilution ratio, every 100 ml of concentrate produces 1 litre of effective treatment spray.

How often should I apply the treatment?

You can repeat the application at weekly intervals until the whitefly activity is under control.

What is the best way to store the concentrate?

Store in a cool, dry place, keeping the bottle away from direct sunlight.

Why is it important to spray the underside of the leaves?

Whiteflies primarily hide and lay eggs on the underside of leaves, so direct contact in these areas is necessary for the treatment to work.

Troubleshooting

Leaf scorch observed after application

Ensure application is performed during cooler, overcast parts of the day and avoid spraying very young or tender seedlings.

Whitefly population remains high after one treatment

The product works by contact, so ensure thorough coverage of the leaf undersides and repeat the application at weekly intervals.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Efficient contact-based control mechanism
Economical dilution ratio for larger areas
No rinsing required after application

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To prepare your spray, use a clean container or spray bottle, combining the concentrate and water thoroughly. For storage, always keep the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the integrity of the formula. Do not apply during the hottest parts of the day or when the plant is in direct, bright sunlight to avoid damaging the foliage. Before treating a large crop, it is good practice to test a single leaf to ensure the plant variety responds well to the treatment.
