Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting Your Watch
- Unscrew/Pull Crown: The crown is push-down. Gently pull the crown out to the desired position. *Do not force it.* If the watch is running, it may have a slight resistance initially.
- Setting the Date: Pull the crown to the first click. Rotate the crown clockwise (or counter-clockwise, depending on the model) until the correct date appears. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM as this can damage the movement.
- Setting the Day: Rotate the crown in the opposite direction from date setting until the correct day appears.
- Setting the Time: Pull the crown to the second click. The second hand will stop (hacking feature). Rotate the crown to set the main hour and minute hands to the correct local time. Be mindful of AM/PM for the date change. Push the crown back in completely to start the watch.
- Setting the GMT Hand: The GMT hand is linked to the main 12-hour hand. To set it relative to your main time, you will usually set the main time first. Then, you can rotate the bi-color 24-hour bezel to align with the GMT hand to show a second time zone, or to align it with the main hour hand to track a third time zone.
Compatibility
This watch is universally compatible with any wrist size it fits. The bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links. Its classic design allows it to complement a wide range of attire, from casual to business casual.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dirt and oils. For stubborn grime, a slightly damp cloth can be used on the case and bracelet (ensure the crown is pushed in).
- Water Resistance: The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters. This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or underwater. Avoid prolonged exposure to hot water, steam (e.g., in a sauna), or harsh chemicals, which can degrade seals.
- Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, laptops, smartphones) as they can affect the accuracy of the mechanical movement.
- Impacts: While durable, avoid dropping the watch or subjecting it to severe impacts.
- Servicing: Like all mechanical watches, regular servicing every 3-5 years by a qualified watchmaker is recommended to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This includes cleaning, lubrication, and seal replacement.
