Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the ends of the pipes to be joined are clean, free from debris, and cut squarely.
- Slide the compression nut onto the pipe, followed by the compression ring (olive).
- Insert the pipe end into the connector body.
- Slide the compression ring and nut towards the connector body, ensuring the ring is seated correctly.
- Tighten the compression nut firmly onto the connector body using appropriate wrenches. Avoid over-tightening, which can damage the components or pipe.
Compatibility:
This connector is designed for use with specific pipe sizes. Always verify that the connector's specifications match the diameter and type of the pipes you are joining. It is generally compatible with copper and certain plastic plumbing pipes, but always check manufacturer recommendations for specific materials.
Care:
- Keep the connector clean and free from dirt and debris, especially during installation.
- Periodically inspect connections for any signs of wear or leakage (though brass is durable, extreme conditions could affect it).
- Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
