The Mirka Abranet 70x198mm P240 grit sanding strips are an ideal solution for woodworkers, automotive professionals, and DIY enthusiasts who require high-performance, dust-free sanding on wood, filler, lacquer, plastic, and metal surfaces. These strips provide a significant advantage by utilizing a net-based structure that allows for near-total dust extraction when connected to a suction system, ensuring a healthier and cleaner workspace. One caveat to keep in mind is that while the net construction is highly durable and clog-resistant, you must ensure the abrasive is properly aligned with your sanding block or machine base to maintain optimal airflow and prevent premature wear of the sanding surface.

Yes, they are excellent for hand sanding blocks and can even be used for hand-contouring if folded carefully.
P240 is quite fine; it is better suited for smoothing surfaces rather than aggressive material removal. For heavy paint removal, you should use a coarser grit like P80 or P120.
No, they work with any standard shop vacuum that features a hook-and-loop compatible sanding head, though industrial dust extractors provide the most consistent results.
While they are very durable, they are not designed to be washed. Tapping or light brushing is the recommended way to clean them.
This specific package contains 50 individual 70x198mm Abranet strips.
Yes, provided your orbital sander has a 70x198mm rectangular base with a hook-and-loop attachment system.
Check if your sanding block has a clean, functional hook-and-loop face. If the block's hooks are worn down, the strip will not adhere properly.
Check your vacuum bag or filter; if the suction is clogged, dust will remain trapped in the mesh, reducing the abrasive's cutting efficiency.
Ensure you are using a light touch. Abranet requires less pressure than paper abrasives; pressing too hard can increase friction and cause premature mesh failure.
To achieve the best results, attach the 70x198mm Abranet strip to a matching rectangular sanding block or orbital sander. Ensure the base of your tool has a hook-and-loop (Velcro) surface to secure the net properly. When working with dust extraction, align the holes of the machine with the mesh surface. For care, avoid using these strips on excessively jagged or sharp metal components that could pierce the mesh. Store your unused strips in a cool, dry place to maintain the integrity of the adhesive backing. If the abrasive becomes dusty during manual use, a quick firm tap is usually sufficient to restore its cutting ability.
