The KNIPEX Plastic Jaws - 86 09 180 V01 are designed for users of KNIPEX pliers wrenches (models 86 XX 180 from 2019 onwards) who need to protect sensitive or finished surfaces. Their key benefit is providing a soft, smooth grip to prevent scratches and marring on materials like designer fittings or chrome. A potential caveat is their specific compatibility with certain pliers wrench models.

These plastic jaws are compatible with KNIPEX pliers wrench models 86 XX 180 manufactured from 2019 onwards.
They are ideal for sensitive materials like chrome-plated surfaces and designer fittings. While they offer protection, they may not provide sufficient grip for extremely hard or smooth materials where standard serrated jaws are required.
The set includes three pairs of protective plastic jaws.
They are designed as protective inserts or replacements for damaged original jaws. For tasks requiring the full strength and grip of metal jaws, the original jaws should be used.
Wipe them clean with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid using strong chemicals or abrasive materials.
The dimensions are approximately 18.50cm x 8.50cm x 2.00cm, and they weigh about 0.03kg.
Verify that your KNIPEX pliers wrench model is compatible (86 XX 180 from 2019 onwards). Ensure no debris is present in the jaw seating area of the pliers.
Ensure the jaws are fully seated. For very smooth surfaces, an extra firm grip might be needed, but be mindful not to overtighten and risk damaging the workpiece.
Replace the plastic jaws. This set includes three pairs, so you have spares available.
Compatibility: These plastic jaws are specifically designed for KNIPEX pliers wrench models 86 XX 180 manufactured from 2019 onwards. Ensure your pliers wrench model number and manufacturing date range match before purchase.
Setup: To attach the jaws, simply align them with the gripping surfaces of your compatible KNIPEX pliers wrench and press them into place. They are designed to snap or seat securely. Refer to the manual for your specific pliers wrench model if you encounter difficulty.
Care: Clean the plastic jaws with a slightly damp cloth after use. Avoid using harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the plastic. Store them in a dry place when not in use.
