Extended Product Information

FAQs

Can I use this trim with 8mm panels?

No, this trim is specifically designed for 10mm panels. Using it on thinner panels will result in a loose fit.

Is this trim suitable for outdoor use?

This product is designed for internal wall cladding. Exposure to direct sunlight and extreme outdoor elements may degrade the finish.

How do I cut the trim without damaging the chrome?

Use a fine-tooth hacksaw and consider applying masking tape over the cutting line to prevent the saw from slipping and scratching the finish.

Does the trim come with mounting screws?

No, this trim is typically installed using adhesive or silicone sealant, so no screws or mechanical fixings are required.

Can I paint over the chrome finish?

Painting is not recommended, as the chrome surface is non-porous and standard paint will likely peel off.

Troubleshooting

Trim feels loose on the panel

Apply a bead of silicone adhesive inside the channel before sliding it into place to ensure a permanent, secure bond.

Trim is too long for the wall

Trim the excess material using a fine-tooth saw, ensuring you deburr the cut edge with a metal file for a smooth finish.

Surface appears dull or smudged

Clean the chrome surface using a mixture of mild soap and warm water, then buff dry with a soft cloth.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation Steps

Measure the required height of the wall cladding run.
Use a fine-tooth hacksaw to cut the U Trim to the exact length of your panel.
Apply a thin bead of high-quality silicone sealant or panel adhesive inside the U-channel.
Press the trim firmly onto the raw edge of the cladding panel.
Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a damp cloth to protect the chrome finish.

Care Instructions

To maintain the chrome finish, wipe regularly with a soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, scouring pads, or bleach, as these can dull or scratch the metallic surface.
