The Mirka Abralon P2000 sanding discs are designed for professional automotive detailers, furniture makers, and surface refinishing experts who require a high-quality, consistent finish on painted or delicate substrates. These 150mm foam-backed discs excel at smoothing surfaces and prepping for final polishing, though they are specialized for fine-grit finishing rather than heavy material removal.

Yes, they are excellent for finishing metal surfaces, particularly for removing light oxidation or smoothing welds before painting.
Abralon discs are designed for both. Wet sanding typically results in less dust and a slightly smoother finish, while dry sanding is faster for quick touch-ups.
Yes, P2000 is a standard grade for clear coat refinement, but always use light pressure and monitor your progress frequently.
Yes, you can rinse the pads with water and reuse them until the abrasive grain is worn down, provided the foam backing remains intact.
The foam backing provides cushion that helps the abrasive conform to curves and prevents the user from sanding through edges.
Ensure the backing pad on your sander is clean and free of sanding dust. If the hook material on the machine is worn down, the disc will slip.
If dry sanding, ensure your vacuum extraction is active. If wet sanding, use a steady stream of water to flush away particles.
Check if you are applying too much side pressure. Allow the sander's orbit to do the work rather than pushing down heavily.
To set up, simply center the 150mm Abralon disc onto your sander's hook-and-loop backing pad. Ensure the machine is turned off during attachment to avoid misalignment. These discs are fully compatible with any standard 150mm orbit or rotary sanding machine that uses a velcro-style interface. For care, keep the discs in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. After wet sanding, rinse the disc with clean water and allow it to air-dry completely on a flat surface before storing it to prevent mold or foam deterioration.
