FAQs

What is the primary material of the Ruthie Top?

The top is made from high-quality cotton, providing comfort and breathability.

Does the top fit true to size?

The top features a relaxed, semi-loose fit, so it is designed to feel spacious rather than tight against the body.

Can I adjust the neckline?

Yes, the V-neckline includes integrated drawstring ties that allow you to adjust how open or gathered the neckline appears.

Is the fabric prone to fading?

As with most vibrant red cotton garments, it is recommended to wash inside out in cold water to preserve the color depth.

What size is this specific product?

This variant is a UK size 8.

Are the sleeves full length?

No, the top features short raglan sleeves finished with scallop-edged cuffs.

Troubleshooting

Drawstring ties have become knotted

Gently massage the knot with a blunt-tipped tool like a knitting needle to loosen the fibers before pulling apart.

Embroidery threads have snagged

Do not cut the snagged thread. Carefully use a sewing needle to pull the loop of the thread back through to the inside of the top.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Versatile design pairs well with both formal trousers and casual denim
  • Soft, breathable cotton fabric is suitable for extended wear
  • Adjustable drawstring neckline allows for customizable styling
  • Relaxed fit offers comfort without appearing overly loose or shapeless

Cons

  • Floral embroidery requires gentle handling during cleaning
  • Only available in a specific UK size 8
  • Material is prone to wrinkling, typical of pure cotton

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Ruthie Top maintains its shape and vibrant red color, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Washing: Use a cold, delicate machine cycle or hand wash to protect the embroidery threads.
  2. Drying: Air dry the garment on a hanger or lay it flat to avoid shrinkage and damage to the scalloped cuffs.
  3. Ironing: Iron on a low, steam setting specifically while the fabric is slightly damp to smooth out wrinkles in the cotton.
  4. Storage: Store folded or on a padded hanger to prevent the drawstring ties from catching on other items in your closet.
