Eltako FSR14-2x - Dual Channel Bus Switching Actuator
DIN rail-mounted dual-channel switching actuator with RS485 bus communication capability. Each 16A...DIN rail-mounted dual-channel switching actuator with RS485 bus communication capability. Each 16A/250V channel can be configured as impulse or switching relay with adjustable switch-on wiping time (0-120 sec) or release delay (0-120 min). Features bidirectional EnOcean Smart Home protocol support. Surge current relay with 2 channels, 1+1 normally open contact potential-free 16A/250V AC, incandescent lamps 2000W, with DX technology. Bidirectional. Stand-by loss only 0.1 watt. Series installation device for mounting on mounting rail. Connection to the Eltako RS485 bus. Cross-wiring bus and power supply with jumper. To do this, simply connect the N conductor to the terminals (N1) and L to 1(L) and/or N to (N2) and L to 3(L). This results in an additional standby loss of only 0.1 watt. If the supply voltage fails, the switching state is retained. With recurring supply voltage is switched off in a defined way. The channels can be taught in independantly of each other as A SINGLE AND/or SINGLE channel. Scene control: With one of the four control signals of a button programd as scene button with double rocker, several channels of one or more FSR14-2x can be switched on or off for each scene. Central commands on the PC are sent with the building radio visualization and control software GFVS. The LED below the upper rotary switch accompanies the programming process according to the operating instructions and indicates control commands during operation by short flashing.

FAQs
What is the maximum switching capacity of each channel?
Each channel can handle a maximum switching capacity of 16A at 250V AC. For incandescent lamps, the maximum is 2000W, and for 230V LED lamps, it's up to 400W.
How is the device powered?
The device can be powered by 12V or 230V AC, depending on the specific wiring configuration and connection to the power supply terminals.
What does 'DX technology' mean for this actuator?
DX technology refers to Eltako's patented Duplex technology, which allows the relays to switch potential-free contacts at the zero-crossing point of the 50Hz AC voltage. This significantly reduces wear and tear on the contacts, extending the device's lifespan.
Can I use this actuator with different types of sensors?
Yes, the FSR14-2x is designed to be compatible with various Eltako wireless sensors, including pushbuttons, motion/brightness sensors (FBH), and window/door contacts (FTK), allowing for flexible automation scenarios.
What is the standby power consumption?
The device boasts a very low standby loss of only 0.1 watt when correctly wired and configured.
How do I set up scene control?
Scene control is configured by teaching-in a pushbutton programmed as a scene button. Multiple channels on one or more FSR14-2x devices can then be instructed to switch on or off together as part of a defined scene.
Is this device suitable for mounting in a standard electrical cabinet?
Yes, it is a modular device designed for mounting on a standard DIN rail (TH35) and occupies 1 module (18mm width) and 58mm depth.
What happens if the power supply fails?
If the supply voltage fails, the switching state of the actuator is retained. When the supply voltage is restored, the device is switched off in a defined manner to prevent unexpected activation.
Troubleshooting
Device does not power on.
Verify the power supply connection and voltage. Ensure the correct terminals are used for 12V or 230V AC input. Check the circuit breaker or fuse for the power source.
Channels are not switching.
Confirm that the channels have been correctly taught-in and configured using the rotary switches. Check the input signals from connected sensors or control commands. Ensure the load connected to the output is within the specified limits (16A/250V AC).
RS485 bus communication is not established.
Double-check the RS485 bus wiring, ensuring correct polarity and termination if applicable. Verify that the device is properly addressed within the bus system. Check for correct jumper settings for bus cross-wiring.
EnOcean devices are not responding or communicating.
Ensure the EnOcean protocol is enabled and the devices are correctly taught-in to the FSR14-2x. Check for signal interference and ensure the devices are within the effective range of the EnOcean gateway or actuator.
Impulse or delay times are not functioning as expected.
Confirm that the upper rotary switch is set to the correct function (EW for impulse, RV for delay) and that the desired time value (0-120 seconds or 0-120 minutes) is accurately set.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Energy-efficient with very low standby power consumption (0.1 watt).
Flexible configuration options for impulse or switching relay functions.
Durable due to DX technology enabling zero passage switching.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Mounting: Install the FSR14-2x on a standard DIN rail (TH35) within an enclosure.
Wiring: Connect the power supply (12V or 230V AC depending on configuration) and the RS485 bus. Ensure the N conductor and L conductors are connected to the appropriate terminals for the desired operational mode (e.g., N1/L(1) and N2/L(3)).
Bus Connection: Connect the device to the Eltako RS485 bus using jumpers for cross-wiring bus and power supply.
Teaching-in: Use the rotary switches to teach-in wireless sensors (e.g., pushbuttons, motion sensors, window contacts) and configure channel functions. The LED indicator assists during the programming process.
Configuration: Set the upper rotary switch for EW time (0-120 seconds) or RV time (0-120 minutes) if required, or for brightness thresholds when using brightness sensors.
Compatibility:
Primarily designed for Eltako RS485 bus systems.
Supports bidirectional EnOcean Smart Home protocols.
Compatible with Eltako wireless sensors such as pushbuttons (e.g., with double rockers), motion/brightness sensors (FBH), window/door contacts (FTK), and water sensors.
