Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the VEVOR Spare Tire Carrier requires basic hand tools and a socket wrench set. Begin by positioning the mounting bracket on the trailer tongue, ensuring it sits flush against the metal frame. Secure the backing plate using the provided galvanized bolts, tightening them in an "X" pattern to ensure even pressure. Verify that your trailer tongue is no larger than 4 inches by 6 inches, as exceeding these dimensions will compromise the mounting strength. For ongoing maintenance, periodically check the hardware for tightness after the first 50 miles of travel and inspect the powder coating for chips that could lead to surface corrosion. If you notice any rust starting, a quick touch-up with rust-inhibiting paint will help preserve the metal finish.
