Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility: This wood oil is specifically formulated for oiled hardwood surfaces indoors. This includes woods like teak, bangkirai, eucalyptus, and mahogany. It is also suitable for other oiled hardwood surfaces in living rooms, bathrooms, and on floors. Do not use on unfinished, varnished, or painted wood, or on laminate flooring.
Setup:
- Ensure the wooden surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and old finishes. If necessary, clean the wood with a suitable wood cleaner and allow it to dry completely.
- Stir the teak oil thoroughly before use.
- Apply a thin, even coat using a lint-free cloth, brush, or applicator pad. Work with the wood grain.
- Allow the oil to penetrate for the recommended time (refer to product instructions).
- Wipe off any excess oil that has not been absorbed by the wood with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- For deeper nourishment or a more robust finish, apply a second thin coat after the first has dried, following steps 4 and 5.
Care: Regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth is recommended. For cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Reapply the teak oil periodically, typically once or twice a year, or as needed when the wood appears dry or the protective finish diminishes, to maintain its color and protection.
