This Polypipe Polyfit Barrier Pipe is designed for professional plumbers and heating installers needing a flexible and durable solution for hot and cold water supply. Its key benefit is the ease of installation due to its high flexibility and the reduction of potential leak points with the 25m coil format. A minor consideration is that it requires specific PolyFit, PolyMax, or PolySure fittings for optimal performance and warranty adherence.

This pipe is suitable for hot and cold water supply in plumbing and heating installations, including central heating systems. It is not designed for gas applications.
Always use the specified Polypipe PolyFit, PolyMax, or PolySure fittings and follow the fitting instructions precisely. Ensure the pipe is cut cleanly and inserted fully into the fitting.
The polybutylene material offers good freeze resistance, but prolonged exposure to direct UV light can degrade the pipe. If used outdoors, ensure it is adequately protected from sunlight.
The pipe is suitable for standard hot and cold water temperatures found in domestic and commercial heating and plumbing systems. Consult specific technical data for precise temperature and pressure limits.
Yes, it is often used as a flexible and strong alternative to traditional copper pipes in many plumbing and heating applications, offering advantages in ease of installation.
The barrier layer prevents oxygen diffusion into the heating system, which is crucial for preventing corrosion in metal components of the heating system. It also helps maintain water quality.
Ensure the pipe end is cut square and is free from burrs. Gently twist the pipe as you insert it. Verify that you are using the correct Polypipe fitting for the 10mm pipe.
Check that the fitting has been correctly installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the pipe is fully inserted into the fitting. If the issue persists, the fitting may need to be replaced, and the connection redone.
Avoid sharp bends. Use appropriate pipe benders or supports if a tight radius is unavoidable. Gently smooth out any kinks; if severe, it may be best to cut out the kinked section and re-join.
Setup: Ensure the pipe ends are clean and free from debris before making a connection. The PolyFit system uses a one-step joining operation with compatible fittings. Refer to the specific fitting instructions for the correct insertion depth and securing method.
Compatibility: This pipe is designed to work exclusively with Polypipe's PolyFit, PolyMax, and PolySure ranges of plumbing fittings. Using non-compatible fittings may compromise the integrity of the system and void warranties.
Care: While the polybutylene material is durable, avoid exposing the pipe to excessive UV light for prolonged periods if installed outdoors or in direct sunlight, as this can degrade the material over time. For visible pipework, cleaning can be done with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that could damage the pipe surface.
