Full details
Prunus cerasifera 'Princess' is an ornamental Cherry Plum tree that is perfect for a small garden. It puts on a wonderful display of pale pink blossom that decorate the branches throughout spring. The flowers have deeper pink centres and as they open the petals fade to white. Contrasting with the pink flowers are the oval deep-green leaves. The tree also has a very attractive, shiny, smooth bark that showcases a variety of dark brown shades. Cherry plum trees also delight with the edible plum fruits that are produced in autumn. They can be picked and used to make jams, juices and baked into delicious plum pies. Nothing beats trying out your culinary skills using fresh fruit picked from your very own garden! Prunus cerasifera 'Princess' will reach a height and spread of 3m x 3m in a 20 year period. It does well in both full sun and partial shade and is tolerant of most soil types other than very wet soils. This is the perfect interest tree for a small garden offering both glorious colour and wonderful edible fruits. Prunus Princess Tree is an elegant ornamental tree that showcases a profusion of pink blossoms. Its fragrant spring flowers attract pollinators, making it a delightful addition to any garden. This tree serves as a focal point, adding beauty and charm to outdoor spaces. Plant in well-drained soil, water regularly until established, and prune after flowering to maintain its graceful appearance.
