Troubleshooting
Roller is too light to level the lawn.
Increase the ballast weight by filling the drum with more water or sand. Sand provides greater density than water.
Soil is sticking to the roller drum.
Ensure the scraper bar is properly positioned and clean. For very sticky soil, you may need to periodically stop and clean the drum manually.
Difficulty attaching to the towing vehicle.
Verify that your lawn mower or tractor has a compatible tow hitch and that the roller's tow bar is aligned correctly.
Roller leaves gouges in soft ground.
Reduce the ballast weight. The rounded edges are designed to prevent gouging, but excessive weight on very soft soil can still cause marks.
