FAQs
What is the weight capacity of the Brooklyn Cotati Desk?
While intended for standard office use like laptops and books, it is recommended to keep weight under 40-50 pounds to maintain long-term stability.
Does the desk include any drawers?
The Brooklyn Cotati Desk features a streamlined, minimalist frame and does not include built-in drawers.
Can I remove the gold legs?
The legs are integral to the structure and the design; they are not intended to be removed or replaced with other styles.
Is the finish water-resistant?
The finish is designed to resist standard household moisture, but it should be kept away from direct heat and standing water to prevent bubbling or warping.
What tools are needed for assembly?
Most necessary tools are included in the packaging, though having a standard Phillips head screwdriver may be helpful.
Troubleshooting
Desk surface feels wobbly after assembly
Check that all leg-to-base bolts are tightened evenly and ensure the floor surface is level.
Surface scuffs or light scratches
Use a furniture-grade wood touch-up marker or polish designed specifically for wood surfaces in the same brown shade.

Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The desk is delivered flat-packed and requires assembly. Use the included hardware to attach the Scandinavian-inspired legs to the pre-drilled points on the main frame. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely but avoid overtightening to protect the finish.
Compatibility: This desk pairs beautifully with modern fabric chairs or mid-century style wooden seating. It is best suited for rooms with neutral walls or soft color tones to allow the gold legs to stand out.
Care: Dust the surface regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive sponges that could scratch the finish or damage the metallic gold coating on the legs. For spills, use a slightly dampened cloth followed immediately by a dry one.
