Product Information

Full details

The Laneige Balance Mode Rice Foaming Deep Cleanser is designed for individuals with combination to oily skin types who need a thorough cleanse to manage excess sebum and congested pores. By combining chemical exfoliants with gentle physical particles, this cleanser provides a fresh, clarified complexion without stripping away vital moisture; however, users with highly sensitive or dry skin should patch-test first to ensure the glycolic acid concentration is suitable for their barrier health.

FAQs

Can I use this cleanser if I have dry skin?

This product is specifically formulated for oily and combination skin. If you have dry skin, it may be too stripping; we recommend a more moisturizing alternative.

How often should I use the Rice Foaming Deep Cleanser?

For most oily skin types, it is gentle enough for twice-daily use. If you experience irritation, reduce usage to once per day in the evening.

Does this cleanser remove waterproof mascara?

While it is effective at removing standard makeup, waterproof formulas may require a dedicated oil-based makeup remover prior to using this foaming cleanser.

Will the glycolic acid cause sun sensitivity?

Yes, as with all chemical exfoliants, your skin may become more sensitive to the sun. Always apply SPF during the day.

Is this product safe for acne-prone skin?

The kaolin and glycolic acid components are excellent for managing congestion associated with acne, but always consult a dermatologist if you are on prescription acne medication.

Troubleshooting

Skin feels slightly tight after washing

Reduce usage to once per day or follow immediately with a hydrating toner while the skin is still damp.

Dispensing is difficult due to thick foam residue

Wipe the nozzle clean with a damp cloth after every use to prevent the product from hardening in the opening.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Effectively removes makeup without leaving a residue
Visibly reduces excess shine and sebum throughout the day
Gentle enough for daily use on oily/combination skin
Leaves skin feeling soft and balanced rather than tight
Clears congested pores and refines overall skin texture

Cons

May be too drying for users with naturally dry skin
Contains physical exfoliant beads which may irritate compromised skin
Not suitable for those sensitive to chemical exfoliants like glycolic acid

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This product requires no complex setup; simply remove the safety seal upon first opening. It is highly compatible with water-based toners and light hydration serums. To maintain product integrity, store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the cap is tightly closed after every use to prevent the kaolin powder from drying out at the opening. Because this cleanser contains exfoliating ingredients, it is recommended to pair it with a daily sunscreen during the daytime to protect the newly refined skin surface from UV damage.
