Rose 'The Eve' is supplied as an established plant in a 4-litre pot, ready for immediate planting.
Planting:
- Choose a location that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight per day.
- Ensure the soil is well-draining. Amend heavy clay soil with compost or grit.
- Dig a hole twice the width and depth of the pot.
- Gently remove the rose from its pot, teasing out any circling roots.
- Place the rose in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
- Backfill the hole with soil, firming gently.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
Care:
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced rose fertilizer in spring and again in early summer.
- Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the plant and encourage new growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches.
- Deadheading: Remove spent blooms regularly to encourage further flowering and maintain a tidy appearance.
- Pest & Disease: Monitor for common rose pests like aphids and diseases like black spot. Treat promptly with appropriate organic or chemical controls if necessary.
