The tippet size should match the fly size and water conditions. Generally, use 4X or 5X tippet for sizes 14 and 16, respectively.

The depth depends on the water conditions. Adjust your indicator depth to allow the nymph to drift near the bottom where the fish are feeding.

Match the nymph size to the size of the insects you observe in the water. Start with a size 14 or 16 and adjust as needed.

Barbless hooks can increase the chances of losing a fish if not handled correctly. Set the hook firmly and play the fish carefully.

Store them in a fly box to protect the hooks and maintain their shape.

Replace them when the hook is bent or the fly is damaged. Regularly check the condition of your flies.

While designed for fast water, they can be used in still water, but they may not be as effective.

Check your tippet size; use a thinner tippet. Ensure you are using the correct nymphing technique.

Make sure you are setting the hook firmly. Ensure your knots are strong and that the hook is properly set in the fish's mouth.

Adjust your indicator depth. Cast upstream and allow the nymph to drift naturally.
