Product Information

Full details

Designed for individuals seeking a natural-looking, sun-kissed appearance, the Dove Summer Revived Gradual Tan Lotion is ideal for those who want to build a subtle, customisable tan while simultaneously hydrating their skin. This product acts as both a deeply moisturizing body lotion and a self-tanner, providing 72 hours of moisture. A primary caveat to keep in mind is that because it is a gradual tanner, it requires daily application to build and maintain color intensity, and users should exercise care to ensure even coverage to avoid streaking.

FAQs

How long does it take for the tan to appear?

Since this is a gradual tan lotion, color builds up over time with consistent daily application.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

The product is dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types, but we always recommend a patch test first if you have specific sensitivities.

Does it offer sun protection?

No, this product does not contain SPF and does not protect against sun exposure.

How often should I apply it?

Apply daily until you reach your desired shade, then apply every other day to maintain the color.

Will it stain my clothes?

While the formula is designed to absorb into the skin, it is best to let it dry completely before putting on clothing to minimize any risk of transfer.

Troubleshooting

Streaky application or uneven color.

Ensure skin is properly exfoliated before application and distribute the lotion evenly, paying attention to drier areas like elbows and knees.

Color transferring to clothing or bedding.

Allow the lotion to absorb fully and dry completely on the skin before getting dressed.

Darker than expected color.

Reduce the frequency of application or mix the tanning lotion with a standard, non-tanning moisturizer to dilute the effect.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Provides 72 hours of intense moisture for soft, smooth skin.
Builds a natural-looking tan without exposing the skin to harmful UV rays.
Enriched with high-quality ingredients like Niacinamide and Aloe Vera.
Suitable for all skin types and dermatologically tested.
Pleasant, fruit-inspired scent.

Cons

Tan intensity is gradual, which may not suit users wanting an immediate deep color.
Requires consistent daily use to maintain desired color levels.
Requires careful application to avoid uneven coverage or streaks.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best outcome, store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Before the first application, we recommend performing a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area of skin. Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after application to avoid concentrated color on the palms. If you are aiming for a deeper color, apply the lotion daily until the desired shade is reached, then switch to a maintenance schedule of every other day. If you notice any signs of irritation, discontinue use immediately.
