FAQs

What material are the Speedy Holdbacks made from?

The Speedy Holdbacks are made from steel.

What is the color of these holdbacks?

The color family is Antique Brass.

How many holdbacks are included in this pack?

This is a pack of 2 holdbacks.

Are mounting screws included with the holdbacks?

The product description does not specify if screws or wall anchors are included. It is recommended to use hardware appropriate for your specific wall type.

Can these holdbacks be used for all types of curtains?

They are suitable for most standard curtains. For very heavy or bulky curtains, you might need a more specialized solution.

How do I clean the antique brass finish?

Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

What are the dimensions of these holdbacks?

The product is described as 'one size', but specific dimensions are not provided in the given information. They are designed to be a universal fit for standard curtains.

Troubleshooting

Holdbacks feel loose on the wall.

Check that the mounting screws are fully tightened. If the wall material is soft (like drywall), ensure you are using appropriate wall anchors and that they are properly seated.

Curtains are too heavy for the holdbacks.

These holdbacks are designed for standard weight curtains. For very heavy drapery, consider a more robust curtain tie-back system or ensure the holdbacks are securely anchored into wall studs.

Difficulty in finding the right position for holdbacks.

Measure the width of your curtains when fully open and position the holdbacks accordingly to avoid stretching or bunching. Consider using a level to ensure they are mounted straight.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Durable steel construction ensures longevity.
Elegant antique brass finish adds a touch of sophistication.
Simple to install and use for quick curtain management.
Allows for better light control and airflow.
Comes in a convenient pack of two.

Cons

Wall mounting hardware may need to be purchased separately depending on wall type.
Limited adjustability for very thick or heavy drapery.
The 'one size' may not be suitable for unusually large or ornate curtains.
Requires drilling into walls for installation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Determine the desired height and position for each holdback on the wall, typically on either side of the window frame.
Mark the screw hole locations.
Drill pilot holes and insert appropriate wall anchors if necessary (e.g., for drywall).
Secure the holdbacks to the wall using screws (ensure you use screws suitable for your wall type).

Compatibility:

These holdbacks are compatible with most standard curtains. They are best suited for curtains that are not excessively heavy or voluminous. Consider the width of your curtain when fully open to ensure the holdbacks are spaced appropriately.

Care:

Clean the holdbacks with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the antique brass finish. Periodically check that the screws remain tight to ensure the holdbacks are securely fastened to the wall.
