Full details

The Preston Response 1m Handle Extension is an essential accessory for competitive and recreational anglers who utilize the Preston Response handle series. Designed specifically for fishing venues with high banks or difficult access points, this extension provides the critical extra reach needed to land fish quickly and safely. While it significantly increases your operational range, it is important to note that the added length may increase the total weight and flex of your landing net pole when fully extended.

FAQs

Is this extension compatible with other landing net handles?

The Preston Response 1m Handle Extension is specifically designed for the Preston Response handle series and may not fit handles from other manufacturers.

Does it add significant weight to my setup?

While it does add weight, the extension is constructed to be as lightweight as possible to keep your setup manageable.

Can I use multiple extensions at once?

It is recommended to use only one extension at a time to maintain structural stability and minimize flex.

How do I clean the joint area?

Use a damp, lint-free cloth to wipe the connection area and ensure no debris is trapped before sliding the sections together.

What is the primary material used?

The handle extension is crafted from high-quality, durable materials designed to match the strength and finish of the Response handle range.

Troubleshooting

Extension feels loose in the handle

Ensure that the joint is free of mud or sand and that it is fully pushed home into the handle section.

Difficult to separate after fishing

Twist the sections gently while pulling; avoid using excessive force as this may damage the carbon or composite material.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the extension is straightforward: ensure both the extension and the handle are free of grit and debris before connecting them. To maintain the integrity of the joints, avoid forcing the fit. For care, rinse the extension with fresh water after each use to prevent dirt buildup in the connection points. Always store the extension in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure that you do not overload the extension with net weights exceeding the manufacturer's recommended capacity for the handle system.
