Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation
The Rangemaster REXT720 is a 72cm canopy hood designed for seamless integration into your kitchen cabinetry or a false chimney breast. Its dimensions are 357mm (H) x 720mm (W) x 400mm (D). Be aware that its 400mm depth is slightly larger than average, so ensure your cabinet or installation space can comfortably accommodate this dimension.
The hood supports both ducted extraction (venting air outside via ducting) and recirculating extraction (filtering air through charcoal filters and returning it to the kitchen). For recirculating mode, charcoal filters are required and are typically sold separately. Professional installation is highly recommended to ensure proper ducting, secure mounting, and correct electrical connection.
Compatibility
This hood is designed to be integrated, offering a sleek, built-in look. Its silver finish and contemporary design complement most modern kitchen aesthetics. Always ensure adequate clearance above your hob as per safety guidelines and local regulations for cooker hoods.
Care & Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are key to prolonging the life and efficiency of your cooker hood.
- Grease Filters: The stainless steel filters are dishwasher-safe. For optimal performance, clean them every 2-4 weeks, depending on your cooking frequency. Simply remove, place in the dishwasher on a normal cycle, and allow them to dry completely before reinserting.
- Exterior: Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for stainless steel. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Halogen Spotlights: To replace a 50-watt halogen bulb:
- Always ensure the hood is switched off at the mains power supply before attempting any bulb replacement.
- Carefully remove the cover or securing ring around the bulb.
- Replace the old bulb with a new 50-watt halogen bulb of the same type. Info needed: Specific bulb type (e.g., GU10, GZ10) for exact replacement.
- Reattach the cover or ring securely.
- Charcoal Filters (for Recirculation): If you are using the hood in recirculating mode, the charcoal filters will need to be replaced periodically (typically every 3-6 months, depending on usage). Refer to the charcoal filter's specific instructions for replacement.
