The Timco Toughsheet Damp Proof Membrane is an essential solution for contractors and DIY enthusiasts seeking to protect concrete slabs, screeds, and flooring systems from rising damp. It provides a reliable moisture barrier that ensures structural integrity in building projects, though users should ensure the substrate is level and clean before installation to prevent punctures.

This product is primarily designed for floor slabs. For vertical wall applications, please verify against local building control requirements for tanking systems.
The Timco Toughsheet Damp Proof Membrane is 250 microns thick.
Yes, it acts as a base layer; however, ensure it is installed beneath the screed or insulation layer as specified by your underfloor heating manufacturer.
You should use a high-quality, moisture-resistant damp-proof membrane jointing tape to seal all overlaps.
No, it is intended to be protected by a screed or flooring layer. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and weather should be avoided.
Each pack covers 20 square meters (4m x 5m).
Apply a generous piece of professional-grade damp-proof membrane tape over the affected area, ensuring a wide overlap on all sides of the tear.
Use temporary weights or securing stakes at the edges to keep the sheet taut before concrete application.
Before laying the Toughsheet, ensure the substrate is free from sharp objects, debris, or jagged concrete protrusions that could tear the film. When installing, roll the sheet out across the area, ensuring an overlap of at least 150mm between adjacent sections. Secure the joints using a high-quality damp-proof membrane tape to create a continuous, airtight, and watertight seal. The membrane is compatible with most standard concrete screeds and sub-flooring types. For long-term care, ensure that the membrane remains undisturbed during the installation of floor joists or concrete pouring. Once covered, the membrane is maintenance-free, provided it was installed without any unsealed punctures.
