FAQs

Can D-C-Fix be used on textured surfaces?

It is best used on smooth, non-porous surfaces. Textured surfaces may affect adhesion and appearance.

How do I remove D-C-Fix vinyl?

Use a hairdryer to warm the vinyl and peel it back slowly. Any leftover residue can be removed with warm, soapy water.

Is D-C-Fix waterproof?

It is water-resistant, making it suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms, but avoid prolonged exposure to standing water.

Can I use D-C-Fix on outdoor surfaces?

While it can be used outdoors, it is not designed for long-term outdoor use and may degrade faster due to weather exposure.

What tools do I need to apply D-C-Fix vinyl?

You will need a measuring tape, scissors or a utility knife, a smoothing tool or credit card, and a cleaning solution.

How long does D-C-Fix vinyl last?

The lifespan depends on the usage and care. It can last for several years with proper care and on surfaces with low wear.

Can D-C-Fix be applied over existing wallpaper?

No, it's not recommended as the vinyl will not adhere properly to wallpaper. The surface needs to be smooth and non-porous.

Troubleshooting

Air bubbles under the vinyl.

Lift the vinyl and smooth out the bubbles with a smoothing tool or credit card. Use a pin to pop stubborn bubbles and smooth them down.

Vinyl not adhering properly.

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. Apply firm pressure during application, especially around the edges.

Vinyl shrinking over time.

Ensure the vinyl is applied at room temperature and avoid extreme heat exposure.

Difficulty in repositioning.

Apply the vinyl slowly and carefully, using the low-tack adhesive to your advantage. If needed, lift and reapply.

Residue left after removal.

Use a hairdryer to warm the vinyl and peel it back slowly. Clean any remaining residue with warm, soapy water.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

Surface Preparation: Clean the surface thoroughly with a degreaser and allow it to dry completely. Any imperfections will show through the vinyl.
Measurement & Cutting: Measure the surface accurately and cut the D-C-Fix vinyl to size, leaving a small overlap.
Application: Peel back a small section of the backing paper and apply the vinyl to the surface, smoothing out any air bubbles as you go. Reposition as needed.
Trimming: Once applied, trim any excess vinyl with a sharp knife or utility blade.

Compatibility

D-C-Fix vinyl is compatible with most smooth, non-porous surfaces, including:

Wood
Laminate
Metal
Glass
Plastic

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any oils or contaminants.

Care

Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Heat Exposure: Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, such as placing hot pots directly on the vinyl.
