The Stanley Cushion Grip Stubby Screwdriver is an essential tool for tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts working in cramped, low-clearance spaces where standard-length tools cannot fit. Its key benefit is the combination of high-torque capability and a compact design, though it is important to note that its limited length restricts reach into deep-set fastener locations.

This model features a Phillips Ph2 tip.
No, the stubby 45mm shaft is designed specifically for tight, low-clearance areas and will not reach screws located deep within a surface.
The bi-material handle is designed for durability in standard workshop conditions, though it should be kept away from harsh solvents that might degrade the grip material.
Yes, it features a strong magnetic black oxide tip for improved screw retention.
No, the bar is chrome-plated to provide significant protection against rust and corrosion.
The tethering hole allows you to attach a safety lanyard, which is a standard safety requirement when working on ladders or scaffolds to prevent dropping the tool on others.
Clean the magnetic tip with a cloth to remove metal debris, or use a magnetizer to refresh the magnetic field.
Ensure you are using the correct Ph2 tip size and verify that the screw head is not stripped or damaged.
The handle is moulded to the bar for a permanent bond; if it moves, the tool has likely suffered extreme mechanical failure and should be replaced.
This screwdriver requires no assembly. It is specifically designed for use with Phillips Ph2 drive screws. To ensure long service life, wipe the tool clean with a dry cloth after use to remove debris or metal shavings. Periodically inspect the magnetic tip for buildup of metal dust that may weaken its grip. Because the blade is chrome-plated, it is resistant to rust, but avoid using it as a chisel or a lever to pry objects open, as this may damage the tip geometry and void the structural integrity of the blade.
