FAQs
What material is the colander made from?
The colander is made from durable stainless steel with a brushed interior finish.
What are the dimensions of the colander?
The colander has a diameter of 18cm.
Is the colander dishwasher safe?
While stainless steel is generally dishwasher safe, hand washing with mild soap and water is recommended to maintain the brushed finish and prevent potential damage or dulling over time.
Can this colander be used for hot foods?
Yes, the stainless steel construction makes it safe for draining hot foods directly from the stove.
What is the purpose of the long handle?
The long handle provides a comfortable grip and allows you to tip the colander easily, keeping your hands away from steam and hot water.
Will small grains like rice fall through the holes?
The perforations are designed for efficient drainage but may allow very small grains like rice or quinoa to pass through. It is best suited for pasta, larger vegetables, and fruits.
How should I store this colander?
Store in a dry place. Due to its long handle, you might consider hanging it on a hook if drawer space is limited.
Troubleshooting
Colander is difficult to clean.
Soak in warm, soapy water for a few minutes to loosen any stuck-on food. Use a soft brush for stubborn areas.
Water does not drain quickly enough.
Ensure the perforations are not blocked by food debris. Rinse the colander thoroughly after each use.
Colander has developed water spots.
Dry the colander immediately after washing and rinsing. For existing spots, gently buff with a soft cloth dampened with a mild vinegar solution, then rinse and dry.
Handle feels loose.
Check if the handle attachment is secure. If it appears to be a manufacturing defect, contact the retailer for support.
